About TheBrain
TheBrain Learning Resources What is TheBrain? TheBrain is a non-linear interactive medium for sharing thinking. It lets you capture and share concepts and their connections so you can get above the fray and see information in context. Brains are easy to digest and can guide people through vast amounts of information quickly. Think of a Brain as a super-powered set of bookmarks - organized, connected, and backed-up by the insight of the Brain's author. Each Brain is a synthesis of information and can provide the context for considering complex questions or provide insight into your world. Don't misunderstand however - Brains are only as smart as their authors. Just like a book or blog entry, a Brain is a method for its authors to express themselves, albeit in a way that is dynamic and flexible. Brains can be about anything. Many people create a Brain about themselves so they can use it to manage all their information and supercharge their memories with a digital backup of their thoughts. Others use TheBrain to expound on their favorite topics such as technology, politics, sports, science, or health. Anyone can create a Brain. Download the PersonalBrain desktop authoring software to get started and then upload your Brain to share it with others. (We're planning to add online authoring in the near future...) Is TheBrain a Mind Map? If you're familiar with mind mapping software, you'll quickly be at home with TheBrain. Like a mind map, a Brain uses a graphical layout of topics connected by lines that radiate out from a central topic. However a Brain is much more dynamic - instead of just one central topic, any topic can be the central topic. The visualization shifts contexts and you change focus. To learn more about the differences read Beyond Hierarchies on our blog or just give it a try and you'll see exactly what we mean. How Much Does WebBrain Cost?
